Some primative tribes believe that taking a photo steals a being's soul. Lucky for us we are soulless.
With Quatre Tet, Austerity Program and another band whose name alludes me.
This was an odd night. I think this is when we got burnt out on The Note as a venue. Your Black Star was good, but the other two bands were, in my opinion, kind of cheesy. They all had hankies in their back pockets and took themselves way too seriously. The drummer for one of the two kept is sticks in hand or in the aforementioned back pocket even when he wasn't playing. Lame.
We did manage to get some good photos of me though. Here's the photos taken by Dave Farkas and stolen from his Web site (Robert had the best light):
A evening of Tony reliving his college past and reuniting with old band mates in Carbondale.
Friends and Tolerators! In a raucous and blatant celebration of bloody regime-change, NONAGON (the self-assigned alias adopted by Tony Aimone, Robert Gomez, and John Hastie) will be flagrantly pushing their noise at THE BEAT KITCHEN.
Here’s some other stuff you should know:
1) You should get there early (even if you don’t stay late) because Champaign’s charming and inventive drum and bass duo, TRIPLE WHIP, is well worth cutting your dinner short for… They freak us out.
An amazing line-up of bands got together to support Jackson Presley Diamond.
Tuesday Is The New Thursday!
…which, if you’ll remember, was recently voted “the new Friday”.
So: what better way to start your weekend than a Nonagon show? (Nonagon, of course, being a music combo featuring the likes of Tony Aimone, Robert Gomez, and John Hastie).
We’ll be playing with an amazing and inventive band from North Carolina called The Nein (one of our faves) and a Chicago purveyor of loud and creative instrumentals called Snowbeast.
For the most part, you can find photos of the band interspersed in our show reports. We do have plently of images available on Flickr too. Older photos of Nonagon are on Robert's Flickr Site. Newish photos of Nonagon are on Wika's Flickr Site and you can always find more pictures buried within this here web site by browsing through posts tagged photos.
